Small Child, Heat Rashes On Back, Difficulty Sleeping Due To Itching. Can Calamine Lotion Be Used?
Hello doc, can I use calamine lotion for my baby? he is having heat rash (prickly heat) in his back and front part of his body and difficult to sleep caused of itching.. He is now 1yr and 3 months old. I already bought this lotion but I doubt to use it because there is a warning states not to use the product under 2yrs of age..Thank you and more power..GODBLESS... yes you can use, if it is not cured by lactocalamine.
You should get consult with your doctor to find out cause of rash.
I would advise;
Maintain hygiene
Keep your bay dry after bath.
Use cotton cloths.
Proper and regular diet.

your child might be having some allergic rash or worm infestation, it is advisable to take ur baby to a nearby doctor to assess clinically his condition. lactocalamine will give temporary relief. but the proper treatment can be advised only after a physican checks it properly.
