Small Child, Sore Anus. Applied Soda Cream, Clotrimazole Cream. How To Prevent Pain?
Please I hope you can help my three year old daughter has been crying for about three hours the last three evening before going to sleep she has a sore anus and I ve kept it very clean and have tried applying soda cream and have also tried clotrimazole cream, she s the youngest of my five daughters and I ve never experienced this before what could it be or what can I do to prevent further suffering? Thanx

The perianal rash may be due to frequent passage of stools and frequent cleaning with soap. So clean with plain lukewarm water and gently touch that area with a soft clean cloth to make it dry and after getting dried you can apply zinc oxide containing creams thrice daily and if the pain is severe you can apply xylocaine containing creams. What is the cause of rash should be looked into? So consult your Pediatrician.
