Small Red Sores Just Below Waistline And Pubic Area, STD Tests Negative. Any Thoughts ?
Hello, I have recently gotten small red sores just below my waistline and above my pubic area. The marks resemble irritation from shaving the area, but I haven't shaved it in a while and it hasn't gone away after a week and is maybe a little worse though not too much different from the second day it started or so. I thought maybe an STD but I've been with the same girlfriend for over 6 months and she just recently got tested and has nothing wrong. Thoughts?
Since the chances of acquiring STD is ruled out, symptoms as mentioned in your post can be due to: 1. Folliculitis 2. Ringworm (tinea) infection 3. Contact dermatitis 4. Urticaria
Symptomatic relief can be obtained with: 1. Intake of antihistamine preparations like Allegra 2. Application of topical steroid & antifungal ointment 3. Calamine lotion for symptomatic relief 4. Antibiotics to prevent secondary bacterial infection.
If symptoms still persist, kindly visit a Dermatologist & get a proper clinical examination done to find the exact cause.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
