Small White Dots On Lower Lips With Redness After Sex. Scab Formed After Popping

Good afternoon, I recently had sex this past Tuesday and Wednesday. On Saturday night, I noticed small white dots on the corner of my lower lip. The next day, there was a redness. I popped it on Monday afternoon and today it has tried to just scab over. I kind of freaked out because of the location and the timing after sex but it doesn t have the yellow-crusty appearance. I haven t had any cold or flu like symptoms and no itchiness or burning. It just is sensitive to the touch as an exposed cut would be.

Hi,
It is important to know if you have had oral sex or sexual intercourse. If you did not have oral sex then there is no reason to panic and worry regarding any sexually transmitted infection. If you had oral sex then consultation with a doctor is suggested.

General & Family Physician Dr. Nsah Bernard's  Response
Hello,

Thanks for posting,

Vulva pustules/papules could simply be due to infection (which must not necessarily be STD but sex could be the main predisposing factor). With your sexual contact, the infection could simply have gotten through the skin of your vulva (through friction with your partner) thereby leading to folliculitis (which is a skin condition that often affect pubic regions as a result of presence of hair follicules). To safe, I will recommend you getting screening for potential STDs as some of them usually occur silently especially in women.
Ones your doctors find out the cause of the rashes, you will be provided with either topical or oral treatment to get rid of the rashes.

Hope this helps
