Smoke Cigarette Regularly. Felt Like Losing Vision During Driving. Then Slowly Returned To Normal. What Can This Be?

I'm sixteen. I used to smoke cigarettes regularly. Today it is about ninety degrees and my car doesn't have air conditioning. I smoked a cigarette and a half for the first time in three months and I lost my vision while driving. I felt like I was going to pass out. I don't know what's wrong and I'm afraid to tell anyone because, of course, I'm not supposed to be smoking. I did my best to drive home and my vision slowly returned and when I got home I drank two glasses of water and took a cool bath. I feel better now but I want to be positive that I will be okay.

Hi,

Nice to know that you are feeling better and your vision has recovered. What happened to you was most likely due to the constriction of blood vessels in the eyes caused by the toxic chemicals in the cigarette. Although it was reversible this time, it may not be so if you continue to smoke. Smokers have a four times higher risk of blindness than nonsmokers. Hence, you need not worry about anything if you remain abstinent.

Bets wishes.
