Sneezing, Runny Nose After Putting Oxygen In Nose For Doing Colonoscopy. How To Stop This?


I had a conlonoscopy today and they put the oxygen in my nose. I have been sneezing and my nose has been running ever since I woke up from the anesthesia. I do not have allergies and I do not have a cold. Could this be a side effect of the oxygen. I do not know what anesthesia they used and I don't know if it was through the IV or the nose. If it a reaction what can I do to stop it?

i can feel your concerns

usually oxygen does not cause such reaction

it can be due toirration by nasal prong

i advise you to take antihistamine after consulting your doctor

donot worry

it will get better after taking medicine


take green tea and honey

steam inhalation also improve symptoms

avoid cold and soft drinks

take plenty of fluids

saline gargles are effective remed

Hello,

Oxygen does not cause this type of problems.

This may be a case of nosocomial(Hospital acquired) viral infection.

You may take antihistamines to get relief from running nose and sneezing.
