Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am in hospital with what they believe to be a haematoma in the left iliac abomen it's about 3cm long. I had a CT scan and they were pretty darn sure it was an infected haematoma so they booked an ultra sound drain. Radiologist who was doing the procedure did the scan and said I'm not putting a drain in that until I know what it is. She could not see a blood supply attached to it and this made her quite happy The ultra sound showed a black mass. She did a biopsy instead. And it took 3 goes to get a very small sample of tissue. Each time she went in she just got blood, she said it was quite soft.
So I'm quite worried about this and it's utterly agonising pain.
They ruled out diverticulitis early on. No blood in bowels or stool. I do have an infection but BP and sp02 are good it's just the temp at 36.8 - 37.8 that's indicating.
Any help or suggestions would be great.
