Son is 12 years old and felt a "pop" in his tailbone area today and is in tremendous pain. No trauma to cause the pain. Bad pain at the end of the coccyx but I also notice a hard, painful area about an inch up and to the right of the spine. It is painful when I push or massage is. The same bone-like lump is not present on the left side of the spine. Should he see a doctor to rule out a fracture and is the hard bone-like lump normal?
