Sore Nose, Inflammation, Pus Oozing Out, Painful To Touch. Used Nasal Spray For Sinus Congestion. What Is The Cure?
I was prescribed nasal spray earlier this week for sinus congestion and then my nose became sore so I stopped using it. Yesterday I looked up my nose and it's inflamed. Today a small amount of puss came out. It's pretty painful to the touch. Even to the outside of my face. When I tilt my head up it's noticeable that one nostril is swollen on the inside.
I am Dr Sriram nathan, an ENT surgeon and I will try to help you out with your problem.
It seems to me that you have developed an acute infection of the skin area of your nose which we call the vestibule. This happens when you constantly rub the area and is treatable though very painful.
You must do these: 1. Hot fomentation over the area 2. No head bath for the next one week 3. Local antibiotic ointment like tbact 4. Antibiotic medication like the amox-clav along with pain killers like levocetrizine in consultation with your doctor. 5. Injectable medications if the symptom are very severe
Once the infection is controlled then you must meet an ENT surgeon for the proper and permanent cure for your sinus problem
