Sore On Foot Below Toe With Redness, Oozing Brown Pus With Severe Pain When Squeezed. Applied Hydrogen Peroxide And Triple Antibiotic. Serious?

I have had a sore on the side of my foot below my big toe. It's deep and taking weeks to heal. Today I noticed that the skin around the sore was thin raised red and hot. I cleaned out the sore and used hydrogen peroxide but I was NOT prepared for the disgusting painful experience that was about to take place. I noticed some pus oozing out of the hole. So I gently squeezed and shockingly handfuls of thick milky brown pus came pouring out again and again. And it smelled like a dead corpse! It hurt terribly but there was immense relief as well. Once I felt Id gotten most of the brown pus out I cleaned the affected area and applied hydrogen peroxide. I then added a triple antibiotic and wrapped it up. What is up with the stinky BROWN puss. I read something about amoebic liver parasite or something that gives you brown puss. I'm freaking out!

Hello,
You are having an ulcer below your big toe with averted margins with pus discharge, this pus discharge is never amoebic, it is yellow brown is due to pus mixed with blood,not amoebic, so you get it cleaned regularly and and always keep antiseptic dressings with beta dine or antibiotic advised after pus culture & sensitivity and along with take oral medication preferably ampicilline+cloxacilline caps.three times daily with analgesics & anti inflammatory medicines, you will be definitely get prompt relief in your ulcer condition of your foot or you get it scrapped up once by surgeon and dress up regularly.Good luck & take care.

Welcome to HCM.You need a surgical cleaning/debridement of dead tissue of the sore done by a surgeon,a antibiotic culture and sensitivity for the bacteria to select the best antibiotic for fast healing.You need to ensure your blood sugar is not elevated as Diabetes will retard the recovery.The smell is due to dead tissue in the pus,the brown colouration would be there as it is blood stained.Unless surgical removal of dead tissue is not done,healing will be impaired. Your doctor can guide you further.
