Sore Throat, Burning Eyes, Itchy Ears. Reasons ?

Hello, I have had a sore throat for over a week now. Other symptoms that I have are, my eyes burn and behind my ears are achy. My boyfriend is med student, so he looked in my eyes and said they look fine. He checked my throat and said it s a little red, but didn t look bad. What could be causing these symptoms? Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks for the query.

All the symptoms and signs suggest an infection. Though that is clear, it would need a careful physical examination and some relevant investigation such as blood and throat swab test to identify the organism causing infection.

Symptom wise, this is more likely to be a viral flu. So I suspect you to feel better in a few days from now. Taking medicine to relieve symptoms will benefit you. Accordingly you may take warm saline gargles with antihistamines like Benadryl.

Drink plenty of fluids and take lots of fruits and vegetables for a speedy recovery.
