Sore Throat, Dry Cough, Voice Loss, Swollen Tonsils, White Spot On Tonsil. Strep Test Negative. Treatment?

i have frequent sore throats. 4 in the past 3 months. this time i had a sore throat for 2 weeks then a dry cough started a couple days ago and now i lost my voice for a day now. my tonsils are swollen and i have a tiny white spot on my left tonsil. i went to the doctor and they tested me for strep and it came back negative. any ideas?

thanks for query at HCM.
Swollen tonsil with white spot indicate that it might be due to infection.
There are many organisms that can cause infection other than strep.
My recommendation would be
1 take plenty of water.
2 do salt water gargling thrice daily
3 if there is fever take tab paracetamol thrice daily.
any other symptoms consult doctor further investigation and management.
