Sore Throat, Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck. No Relief After Taking Antibiotics. Advice?
hi...i been having a sore throat on my left side for more than a month now..the back of my neck has a swollen lymph node thats also been there for more than a month and then under my jaw feels very swollen and swallowing isnt fun at all with this swollen feeling... my ear also feels weird... i dont have any fever or anything like that... i went to my doctor about it but she said its just swollen lymph nodes and that they would go iff i take antibiotics. i took them and nothing has healed. what could this be? ihave been to my doctor about 5 times the past few months.. i even took a blood test and urine test recently for any diseases and it all came out clean. what could this be ?
Hello, If you have been to doctor and took antibiotics for 5 times then -- Get done a Ultrasonography to see for the nodes number and size so that idea can be made about the disease. If the nodes are large and not settling down get done a Fine needle aspiration cytology to do a tissue diagnosis. so that a diagnosis is made and further management is planned . You can also go for Excision biopsy of the nodes. All this decision making depends upon your ENT specialist who can examine you.
