Soreness In Breasts And Arms, Nausea, Headaches, Had Spotting. Was On Depo. Chances Of Pregnancy?

I was on depo starting june 2012 I didn t go back to my shot in july 2013 because the side effects were becoming too much. I have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend & yesterday I noticed my breasts were sore around my arm pit area. Today when I woke up I had pain above my pubic bone that just won t go away it has gotten worse as the day goes on. I also had a slight headache and nausea and the chills later on in the day. I did notice some very light spotting yesterday & also a few weeks ago but I assumed that was the depo wearing off since I have not had a period since I started takingit in june 2012. Could I possibly be pregnant this soon? I thought maybe I would have more time to get on something else. I m terrified to find out mostly because id have to tell my boyfriend & I m not sure how he would react. Also I am jobless at the moment & living with my parents. I m really hoping its just the effects from being on depo for over ayear but after reading other womens post of getting pregnant after a couple weeks of being off of it & even while on it that makes me scared. Thank you for your time.

Hi,
The return of normal ovulation takes a long time after stopping the depo-shot. Your symptoms could be due to withdrawal from the injection. You should see a specialist for a proper evaluation. Meanwhile you can use barrier methods before you can pick up some other suitable form of contraception. You can also get a blood test for pregnancy as well as a trans-vaginal/pelvic sonogram for exclusion of pregnancy. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
