Sorry, leaving for vacation tomorrow. No $ for this now. & she won't pay it. I'll call her dr. when I get home. Thanks & Sorry. My mother in law is 90. Basically good health. Rarely has gone to a DR until this past year. In Dec 2017 she fell & broke her hip. Almost hit the dresser, she turned herself while falling to avoid the dresser hitting her in the head. She is recovered, uses a cane (most of the time)! Has a walker, which I've recommended she continues using, but she is stubborn. About 3 weeks she fell & hit her side on her dresser. She has 2 broken ribs. I think # 9 & 10? I didn't read DR report. Given Oxy, which she takes infrequently. And Advil. She asked me tonight about causes of lightheadedness. I told her age! Getting up too fast. Told her it happens to me & her son too. I'm 68, MR is 64I printed off the info on BPPV & will give to her in AM. Question: Is Shingles a viral infection? Could that be a cause? She had shingles about 3 yrs ago & still has some pain. Now the ribs in the same place! My hubby & I also have had shingles in past 5-8 years. I had very light, because I had the shot. Hubby was too young! But now they'll give shots to people in 50's. He did get the shot later. We also get light headed once in a while, especially getting up from bed. That's why I wondered about shingles, since we all had them. She also only eats enough to keep a bird alive. She does like steak & will gobble that down, no problem! Takes a 1/3 - 1/2 small baked potato. If I have potato salad, she takes a tablespoon. She has lost 50-70 # in past few years. She is about 5'6" now. She was 5'8 or 5'9" when younger. Her oldest son also lives with us & he's MORBIDLY OBESE. I think she eats so little to get him to feel bad & maybe not eat as much, but that's a guess on my part. If you're too thin, can't that cause dizziness too?
