Spongy Painful Mass In The Front Of Shin. Have Numbness And Tingling In Limbs, Diabetic. What Could It Be ?
Hello:
I have a spongy mass in the fron of my shin, it seems to come and go, it is painful at times but not always. I first thought it was a blood clot and went in to be seen. I went to a vein specialist but by the time I went in it had gone down substaintially. I did not put other symptoms together but I have been experiencing them here and ther priot to the lump appearing and after. I have been tired, I have experienced numbness and tingling in the limb it is affecting. I am diabetic and have had a mirena iud for 3 years. I dont know that any of this has to do with it but just more information on what it could be.
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Mirena I U D has nothing to do with this . However diabetes may be responsible for sequestrum formation in tibia . This spongy mass may be, Chronic osteomyelitis , Brodie's abscess , osteoid osteoma ( benign tumor), Tuberculosis At this point with this short history ( query) it is not possible to diagnose the disease. Consult an Orthopaedician and get his opinion. Good luck. Dr. HET Get in blood examination ( E S R may be very high) .
