Spotting After Positive Pregnancy Test. Ultrasound Shows No Obvious Foetal Node. Irregular Periods. Inference?
hii doc, my lmp was 17th july 2013 and i got a positive pregnancy test on 22nd august 2013. as per the lmp i should have been around 6-7 weeks pregnant. i experienced slight spotting on 2nd september and the gynae advised for an ultrasound(full bladder ,lower abdomen )... the ultrasound reports indicated the following- size- 9mm decidual reaction-healthy intrauterine g-sac with no obvious foetal node seen internal os closed. the radiologist suggested that the foetus is of the size and dimension of a 4 week old foetus.. what should i infer from the above. i have had irregular periods.
Hi, Thanks for consulting us. This could be an early pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy or a missed miscarriage. For differentiation among all these please go for a blood test called Beta hCG & repeat a trans-vaginal ultrasound after 7-10 days. You will hopefully get the answer once the results are available. Wish you best of luck.
