Spotting Seen. Getting Nauseous, Threw Up. Have Cravings. Pregnancy Test Came Negative. Gastric Or Pregnant?

Hi,
I got what seemed to be my period may 12th. It was a strange period as it was very light and it kept stopping and coming back until day 3 when it completely stopped. I was barely spotting for a day after that. On day 2 of my period I began to feel nauseous and threw up. I haven't thrown up since but I am very nauseous. My eating habits have changed and certain foods put me off. I am also craving a lot of sweets. Now I don't know if this is gastritis as I've had it before or if it's possible that I'm pregnant. I took a home pregnancy test today and it came back negative. Please help!

Hi,
If you have taken the pregnancy test about 3-7 days after your period, it is almost accurate. Yet, if you never had this sort of cycle disturbance earlier, you may get definite confirmation through serum beta-hCG assay. An occasional hormonal disturbance may cause all the symptoms you have and they could be seen in an early pregnancy as well. Please get back if you need further clarification. Take care.
