Sputum Taken After Bronchoscopy Was Normal. Culture Showed Tuberculous Organism. Should I Continue Taking Roxithromycin?
My lungwashings (sputum) taken after Bronchoscopy which was found to be normal . the culture showed atypical tuberculous organism which has yet to be characterised.After bronchoscopy I was advised to take Roxithromycin for four weeks .The respiratory physician has now advised not to continue Roxithromycin till he see me again in the new year.I will see him when he calls me. Please advise.
hello there! If its tuberculosis you will need rifampacin, pyrazinamide and isoniazid with pyridoxine and steroids as first line therapy.Remember tuberculosis is contagious through droplets so needs caution and precaution. Good Luck S Khan
