Stabbing Pain In Neck And Throat, Muscle Spasms. What Could It Be?

Just this morning I developed a sharp stabbing pain in one area of my throat/neck. It doesn't feel like your usual 'sore throat', but more like some kind of muscle spasm. It only hurts when I swallow in a particular manner or move my tongue in a certain way. Any advice on what this could be? Could it be related to stress?

Welcome to HCM.
Pain during swallowing and movement of tongue in particular manner suggest some ulceration in the throat.
It might be due to Gastro esophagial reflux.(followed by acid re flux).
Avoid spicy,oily food.
Pro kinetic with ppi drug will give you relief.
Better get examination done with your physician and start treatment accordingly.
