Started Period, Light Bleeding. Had Sex. On Flagyl. Do I Have Bacterial Infection?
I started my period on 10/26/13.it wasn't normal just light bleeding.then that following wknd,i had sex and he got kind of rough(unprotective sex) I'm on the pills also.after the sex,i started spotting.I was off the pills for like two months then started it that sunday of my period.So on the 21 days of the pills I started on the white pills no period.took all those then period came on the first wk of the blue pills.I'm still spotting 11/13/13.went to er on 11/9/13 they only gave me a prescription of flagyl saying I might have a bacteria infection.ben taking them twice a day.still spotting what should I do
A bacterial infection could be considered as one of the plausible causes but it is one of the least likely ones.
I would recommend a visit to your doctor for a speculum examination, bimanual examination, and a transvaginal ultrasound investigation to find the exact source/cause of bleeding. You have stated any other symptoms of an infection. Please do not discontinue the antibiotics either. While you are at the doctors please also request for a pregnancy test, a urine examination to look for infections and a blood investigation to check on hormone levels.
