Stiff, Painful Neck. Had Root Canal 10 Days Ago. Remedy?
I had a root canal about 10 days ago. I felt fine after with no soreness in the tooth area. However I got a stiff and painful neck as if I had slept on it very awkwardly. But then I opened my mouth wide to bite a big sandwich and found that my neck hurts worse when I do that. I have tried heat and cold and tractioning a little, also moving my neck back and forth with a towel behind my head lifted up with my hands. Is this neck pain normal and what can you suggest to help alleviate the condition?
I have gone through your query regarding stiff and painful neck 10 days after root canal treatment.
As you said that your pain and stiffness in neck arise 10 days after dental procedure and there is no soreness in the tooth concern, all these facts indicates that your problem is not associated with dental procedure and it is a separate entity.

Stiff, Painful Neck. Had Root Canal 10 Days Ago. Remedy?
Hello Welcome in H.C.M. In my opinion it may be cervical spondylosis or some other muscular pain so I will recommend you for- 1- X- Ray cervical spine (AP & Lat) views. 2- X-Ray (OPG). I hope these two radiograph will disclose the diagnosis and that may be manage accordingly. Regards.
