Stiffness, Pain, Cramping In Entire Lower Body After Prolonged Standing. How To Reduce Pain?
Hello, I quit a job that I had for the last 6 months in which I was required to stand in place for 8hr/day. The stiffness , pain and cramping in my entire lower body (not just legs but also glutes) got progressively worse and it did not recover over the weekends. It got to the point where i could no longer stand or move so I quit. That was 2 mo. ago. The pain/cramping has gotten a little better, but is still there. I also was recently diagnosed with Gilbert s syndrome . I am 57, only ten pounds over ideal body weight, had absolutely no physical problems before this job (I could walk 6 mi. perfectly fine.) Any ideas to help?
It is not medically advisable for any person to stand for that long hours. This will pose risk of developing Varicose veins, Musculoskeletal problems etc.
Take an X ray of the painful area and joints to rule out any arthritis. Consult an orthopedician for help.
Gilberts syndrome is a common, mild liver disorder in which the liver does not properly process a substance called bilirubin.
