Still Coughing Even After Taking Mucinex, Nebulizer With Allbuterol For Bronchitis. What Could Be The Problem?
Hi, I have had the flu and bronchitis. Now I have laryngitis and can't talk at all. The flu symptoms are gone, but I am still coughing from the bronchitis. I started taking Mucinex-D and gargling with 1/2 teaspoon salt. Also I use my nebulizer with allbuterol for my bronchitis. Is there anything else I can do for my laryngitis symptoms? I am drinking as much water as I can.
Laryngitis is inflammation of the larynx. In your case, it is likely related to your viral illness but there are other causes such as excess use of the vocal cords, allergies, gastroesophageal reflux ( GERD).
The main aspect of treatment is resting your voice. If you have a humidifier , this may also help. Avoid smoke.
Continue drinking fluids.
I hope this helps
