Stomach Cramp, Sweaty And Light Headed, Abdominal Pain, Blood In Stool. What Could Be This?

Hi, This started yesterday afternoon. First I got severe stomach cramps and I thought I might of eaten something bad for lunch at a restaurant. I was on the toilet and became very hot sweaty and light headed like I was going to pass out. I had to lay on the bathroom floor for about 20 mins. I notice my stool looked reddish in color so I asked my husbands option. He didn't think it looked like blood. I didn't agree. I have had severe abdominal pain ever since and now all I am passing is pure blood and a lot of it. I'm unable to sleep because of the pain. I the last hour I have gone to the bathroom 4 plus time and passed only blood. Sounds gross but I did take of picture for the amount of blood in the toilet after each time go. I'm very worried as the abdominal pain isn't letting up nor is the amount of blood in my stool

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
Do you have acidic belching/ abdominal discomfort/ abdominal pain/ gargling sound in abdomen/ abdominal bloating after taking meals/ constipation?
Do you have diarrhea or frequent urge to use washroom?
With the available described details, there could also be possibility of acute bacterial gastroenteritis.
Other possibility could be inflammatory bowel disease or some sort of growth.
Light headedness could be due to fatigue or could be a prodromal symptom of viral infection.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ gastroenterologist and should go for thorough check up.
You should also go for complete blood count, stool routine microscopic examination including occult blood examination, and serum electrolytes, renal function test.
You should take complete antibiotic therapy, antispasmodics, anti-emetic, probiotics, antipyretics, if needed.
You should maintain your hydration status by taking potassium rich liquids.
Frequent diarrhea/ vomiting may cause loss of potassium with weakness and fatigue feeling.
Take soft diet along with yogurt and banana.
Avoid milk and all milk related products.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
