Hi, Doctor My mother is having stomach pain. She is now 50 years old. She gets this pain regularly on the stomach. The pain is there for the last 3 weeks but not regularly. Scan report is added below...
Report :- USG of UPPER ABDOMEN ------------------------------------------------ Liver liver is not enlarged. Echopattern is regular. No mass lesion seen. Biliary radicles are not dilated.
Porta Hepatis Common bile duct is not seen dilated and measures 4.2 mm at porta. No intraluminal pathology(calculi/mass) could be detected at its visualised part. Portal vein width is 9.4 mm at porta.
Gall Bladder Gall Bladder is normal in size. Multiple small mobile calculi are noted in he gall bladder. Walls are not thickened.
Pancreas Pancreas shows normal shape, size and echopatternn. No calcification or calculus or mass lesion is seen. Pancreatic duct is not dilated.
Spleen Spleen is not enlarged. Echopattern is normal.
USG report suggests that your mother has multiple small gall bladder calculi . Pain is due to this reason. So,treatment is cholecystectomy. She should be treated as early as possible because obstruction with infection due to calculus is an emergency. Other findings are within normal limit. Endoscopy report is also normal.
