Stomach Pain, Bleeding Heavy, HCG Levels Low. Should I Go For Scan?

I started getting some pains in my stomach on Wednesday night which were really bad, I went to the doc on Thursday morning.. I told him there is a chance I might be pregnant but the pain was quite bad. I had a blood test and the hcg(??) levels were high but went back Friday with continuing pain and small bleeding and after another test was told the hormone levels had dropped. I have now been bleeding heavy for about a day.. But what do I do next? My doctor hasn't been much use.. Do I go for a scan? How do I check there is nothing more seriously wrong??
I should only be just over 4 weeks so I didn't even know I was pregnant

OBGYN 's  Response
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The heavy bleeding with the low HCG levels are likely to be due to an ongoing miscarriage. An ultrasound scan is the best way to confirm this so that further treatment can be started.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
