Stomach Pain, Drowsiness, Loss Of Appetite, Fatigue. Taking Laxatives To Pass Bowels. Suggestions?

My daughter is 9yrs old, has complained of a stomach ache , she sleeps all day and has little not no appitie. This has gone on for about 5 days now. I have given her laxitives to help her go to the restroom. She feels better for a bit but the moment she eats again the stomach pain, fatigue , w/no fever or diaharria or vomiting continues. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thank you

Hi,
Your daughter's main complaints are 1) Loss of appetite 2) Stomach ache 3) Fatigue
4) Constipation (assumed as you have given laxative)
Treatment advised. 1) Haematological & X-Ray Chest PA View - to rule out Primary Complex
2) Abdominal USG (Scan) to find out the cause for the stomach ache
3) Treat according to the results
4) If all the reports are normal give her some antacids & antispasmodic - give her the food she likes -
Encourage her Social Activities - don't give laxative - If giving banana/drinking plenty of water/ fruit juices fails you can give drugs to increase the motility of the intestines & that too after stomach pain gets alright

hello angievilla03, your daughter is suffering from GIT infection use antibiotics with pain killer .you can use metronidazole plus furazolidone combination half tablet thrice daily with dicyclomine 10 mg half tablet thrice daily for 3-5 days,if fever present add antipyretics.
