hi wondered if you can help. I came off the pill a month ago and had a period then which I've always been regular and on time with it as been on it since I was 17 but just before my next one I had slight bleeding pink in colour but not much only for a day with cramps..i was due on last Monday although me and my husband have had unprotected sex since I came off im a week late but today noticed im bleeding like a period. I've had symptoms like feeling hot, tired, backache, tingling boobs and tummy cramps could this be my period or could I be pregnant ive done two tests and they've both said negative should I wait and do another or could this be a sign my periods starting..i don't want to get my hopes up if im not really confused please help..

Thanks for the query.
Usually after stopping the pills, it will take some time for regularization of the cycles.
Due to hormonal fluctuation in that period, irregularity is menstrual cycles is common.
The time taken for the regularization of the cycles may vary from person to person.
As you had unprotected intercourse, there is possibility of pregnancy also.
But just by symptoms we cannot confirm or rule out the pregnancy.
And urine pregnancy test kit may not detect early pregnancy sometimes.

So, if you want you can go for blood test now for accurate result or wait for 4 to 5 days and repeat the urine test.
Start taking folic acid supplementation from nowonwards.
