Strained Myself Bench Pressing. Pain In Throat And Breast Plate. Should I Worry?
Well about two weeks ago I just bench pressing and seemed to strain a little more than usual. The next day I woke up with pain on the right side of my throat when I swallowed. It still hurts today but not as much. I also notice i get a slight pain behind my breast plate in the middle of my chest when i eat certain foods like cookies and fruit.Should I be concerned or is it because I hurt something in my throat while lifting
The case history as mentioned in your post suggest that the pain in left breast plate can be due to the strain caused while bench pressing.
Symptomatic relief can be obtained by taking analgesics, muscle relaxants and adequate rest.
However, pain in the throat while swallowing can be attributed to Pharyngitis. Management involves warm water gargles, antihistamines & antibiotics(if bacterial infection is suspected).
If symptoms still persist, kindly consult an ENT specialist for further management.
Meanwhile...avoid taking cold food & drinks, maintain adequate hydration & take soft, non-spicy foods. Wish you good health & a speedy recovery. Thanks & take care.
