Rheumatologist 's  Response
Hello
The strange feeling which is happening to you is actually what is known as fasciculation or muscle twitch. there occurs small, local, involuntary muscle contraction and relaxation which may be visible under the skin. Mostly it is benign and gets fine on its own.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.
From the description, I feel that you are experiencing " Muscle fasciculations" or simply called muscle twitches in the arm. These are involuntary (occur without your effort) movements of a part of the muscle usually occuring as the body's response to fatigue or overuse.

Causes of muscle twitching are numerous and a few of them are -
* Anxiety - is the leading cause of involuntary movements in muscles
* Vigorous body workouts in the form of exercises
* Too much consumption of caffeine and alchohol
* Nutritional deficiency especially Calcium, Magnesium, Vit B6 & B12
* Side effects of certain drugs like Ciprofloxacin
* Neurological diseases like multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathies etc

Follow the below guidelines
*Gently massage the affected muscle
*Hot fomentation (dont use ice as it may worsen the condition)
*avoid dehydration and drink plenty of fluids after workouts
* take a healthy diet rich in vegetable and fruits.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
