Struggle To Urinate After Having Wine. Lower Back Pain After Having Vodka, Dripping After Urinating. Cause?
Last year whenever I drank wine (I have been a wine drinker for many years) after 2 glasses of wine I struggled urinating and forget anything else for about 24 hours. Then I would be fine. I changed from wine to sparkling wine thinking a lighter wine would help - not much difference but a bit. So I gave up wine and changed to Vodka and I stopped having the symptoms. Recently, I have been experiencing an internal lower left back pain (above the waist) after I drink vodka. I am not sure if it the vodka is the cause, but I have also been dripping after I urinate. I am a 55 year old male.
Hello, Thanks for using health care magic for posting your query. Alcohol be it in wine or vodka or whiskey or any local form can cause problems of urinary hesitancy. Its more common among older people in their 50s and 60 s as they already have an enlarged prostate. If it is causing a problem for you, do get evaluated for the size of prostate. If the problem persists then you should stop taking alcohol. The back ache may not be related to your vodka use. You might have hurt yourself somehow. Hope I am of help to you, Thanks and regards Dr. Srikanth Reddy
