Sudden Onset Of Dizziness, Cold Sweat, Had Taken Excessive Tea. Heart Attack Sign?
Hi, the other day I was bring groceries in from the car when I suddenly felt wobbly or dizzy. I sat down and suddenly broke out in a cold sweat. I laid down on the couch and felt better after a little while. I m male, 42, 235lbs. I hadn t had anything to drink that day except a lot of tea (caffeinated). I didn t feel any pain or discomfort at all. Should I be concerned about a heart attack? My pulse seemed fine. Regular.
Having excessive amounts of caffeinated drinks (tea, coffee, cola) can lead to a state of hyperarousal. One tends to be jittery, fidgety, has a lot of tremors especially during writing or doing fine tasks. Mentally there can be a lot of anxiety and nervousness and difficulty in focusing on tasks at hand. Palpitations, profuse sweating and tingling sensations in extremities can also occur. You probably had a panic attack due to excessive intake of tea. I would suggest that you gradually reduce your intake of tea to 2 to 3 cups a day at best and avoid any caffeinated drink after 2 or 3 pm in the afternoon as it can disturb your night time sleep.
