Sudden Pain In Finger At Knuckle, Swollen, Blueish Purple. Blood Clot?
I had sudden pain in my left ring finger at the middle knuckle. There was no trauma or bite. The pain lasted for several minutes then went away completely. The knuckle then looked swollen and blue like a vein . This morning the knuckle is purple like a bruise . What could have caused this. Should I worry about a blood clot. I am a healthy 38 year old woman.
Your description is highly suggestive of slight bleeding under the skin.
It is generally due to minor trauma - not remembered.
If it recurs or increases, you should see a doctor have a look at it and the joint / and get investigated for bleeding diathesis.
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
