Sudden Pain, Numbness In Right Arm, Cold To Touch, Hurts To Lift Up. Causes For Symptoms?
Hello For the past week, I have suddenly and inexplainably had my right arm ache and go dead - it drops in temperature, hurts to lift up and seizes up near the shoulder . It stays like this for about 5-10 minutes and then it subsides. It does it about 2-4 times a day, no patterns and randomly (i may have been sitting, or exercising). I don t know why? I am a 19 year old female.
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
With the available described symptoms, there appears to be possibility of impairment of blood supply and nervous system of right upper limb.
This could be due to compression of described structure in neck by abnormal muscle or ribs (unusual presence of accessory 1st rib.)
You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ cardio-thoracic surgeon and should go for thorough check up.
You should also go for chest x ray including lower neck.
Exact diagnosis can be made only after clinical examination.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
