Hello. My name is Satish. I am 21. I started having sore throat 6 months back. First I neglected. Then when it didn't go i consulted an ENT specialist. He gave me different Antibiotics(Azythromycin,Amoxicillin,Levofloxacin). Then also I was having sore throat. He told me to do a throat swab culture and the result was positive for Klebsiella Pneumoniae. Then he gave me Clarithromycin. Then also it it didn't go. I was just feeling burning sensation and constant irritation in throat(no pain while swallowing). Then he told me to go to Apollo. I went there and consulted an ENT. He told me It's nothing to worry about, I am just having chronic allergic pharyngitis and gave me Phenylephrine and Levocetrizine. After taking that I felt better. But it's not going permanently. Some time i feel that irritation in throat again. What should I do?
u r suffering from chronic allergic pharyngitis,u should repeat a throat swab after an antibiotic free period for at least one weak just to see if u have any infective organisms remaining in your throat,if it s positive take due antibiotic according to sensitivity,if negative then start taking levocetrazine once daily on regular basis, take a monteleukast(mast cell stabilizer) along with it and a good mouth wash daily for some time till your symptoms subside, and before that i am sure your ent specialist must have seen you for DNS,cause DNS is a major cause for post nasal drip which in return causes chronic irritative pharyngitis.
