Suffer From Heavy Periods, Tried Pills, Depo Shots. Which Birth Control Will Help?

I am skeptical about the different types of Birth Controls available, I suffer from heavy periods and I've tried the pill both high and low doses and i have even been on Depo (the shot) . I do not want to worry about the hassle of returning back to the doctor for a couple of months or years even. I am 22, with no children , are IUDs out of the question ? I would love something that helps with the heaviness of my period as well . Thank you

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.

Intrauterine devices are long term contraceptive methods. As you are having problems with oral and parenteral contraceptives, hormone impregnated IUDs will be useful. Progestasert is one of them. But these IUDs can be used for not more than a year. So I suggest you discuss these options with your gynecologist and get an IUD inserted which is suitable for you.
Thanks
