Suffer From Shortness Of Breath After Rapid Exercise. Severe GERD And Scoliosis. History Of Arthritis. Neck Pain. Any Nerve Issue?
I suffer from globus and slight shortness of breath after rapid onset exercise but not from slow onset exercise. Recent severe GERD and paroxysmal AF. Physiotherapist has detected (recent) scoliosis between shoulder blades. Had treadmill test with excellent results on Bruce protocol and NO evidence of ECG changes indicating coronary artery obstruction. Feel generally ill some of the time. Symptoms sometimes relieved by eating. I am male and 59 years old. I have history of manual work and used to be athletic before arthritis stepped in. Had recent neck pain. Can all this be explained by pressure on a spinal (thoracic or cervical) nerve?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us. The shortness of breath after an exercise is not likely to be related to any nerve compression at the level of cervical spine. This is more likely to be related to a cardiac cause. Do get your annual cardiac check up done. I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
