Suffering From Abdominal Cramps. Having Vomitting And Diarhea. Guide

Hello, I'm concerned about the abdominal cramps I've been experiencing for about 4 days now. My stomach starting cramping about 4 days ago, then I had 2 nights of vomitting and diarhea (about 5 bouts of diarhea, only 2 episodes of vomitting), now that has subsided but I still have painful cramping. The cramps are severe enough to make me stop what I am doing and focus on breathing until they subside, they don't improve with changing positions, exercise does not make them worse or go away and they do keep me awake but don't wake me up.

thank you for your assistance.

Hello dear,

The symptoms as mentioned in your post suggest that you are having Gastroenteritis.

Management involves:
1. Maintenance of hydration status by intake of sufficient fluids & ORS
2. Anti spasmodic medication for the abdominal cramps
3. Anti emetics to control the vomiting
4. Anti biotics depending upon culture and sensitivity.
5. Take plain, soft, non spicy diet.

So, kindly consult a Gastroenterologist, get a proper physical examination done, & start treatment.
Investigation like stool microscopy, culture & sensitivity will be helpful in identifying the causative organism & formulate a treatment plan.
An Ultrasound scan of the abdomen may be required to find out any pathology in the Gastrointestinal tract.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Thanks and take care.
