Suffering From High BP. Having Healthy Food Habits, Walking Habits. Dont Prefer Taking Medicines. Advice?
Hi I went to the doctor last week and my blood pressure was high. I am 63 yrs old healthy walk every day and eat healthy. I dont like taking medications as I have read alot about the side affects it can cause. I have never been sk all my life. my friends take alot of medications and I rather take natural pills. I was on statins and i was so sk dry reaching, coughing etc. No way am i going to take them again!I have taken Atacand for the last 5 days and had no side effects!I dont like reading how the pills can effect your health also.
Many times, as we age, our body loses the ability to regulate blood pressure; if a trial of regular aerobic exercise, weight loss if any excess, low salt diet and avoiding excessive stress for 6-12 weeks is unable to get the blood pressure back to normal, then medications are needed; I am glad that you are tolerating the candesartan, keep taking the medication as prescribed, as hypertension is the most important risk factor for stroke.
Yours truly,
