Suffering From Insomniac With Extreme Headache

hi doctor ..its my frind who has got severe headaches since long..she has brain cancer ..and sometimes due to pain she even vomits out blood ..plz doc need a help..she has got some tablets given by a doc for this but they hardly work she says..moreover she has even got insomniac since an year..so when in pain no option other than taking a sleeping tablet..plz doctor in very need plz help

AS A DIAGNOSED CASE OF MALIGNANCY,SHE NEEDS PROPER TREATMENT IN GOOD CANCER HOSPITALS.
CANCER PAIN GENERALLY HAVE VERY MILD EFFECT ON NORMAL NSAIDS.
FOR THEIR RELIF TRAMADOL,PHETHIDINE IS USED.
HOWEVER,THEY ARE ONLY ADMINISTERED IN HOSPITAL SETTINGS AND UNDER SUPERVISION.
IT IS NEVER PREFERABLE TO DELAY THE TREATMENT OF CANCER,BRAINS TUMORS TREATED IN EARLY STAGE HAVE SHOWN SUPERB RESULT IN RECENT PAST,INDIAN INSTITUTE OF CANCER,CHENNAI.T.M.H MUMBAI,ETC HAVE PROVIDED COST EFFECTIVE AND BETTER TREATMENT IN RECENT DECADES.

Dear there is special branch of medicine as a PAIN CLINIC , run by anesthesiologist. Your friend need to consult
Neurosurgeon- To decide about the out come and nature of the tumor,
Oncologist, Radiation specialist - If it is treatable or not.
Then anesthesiologist if he can help you.

since she is a known case of brain cancer, she must be treated by an expert oncologist. i feel bad but if she dont get any relief by routine painkillers then only higher painkillers can help her ie.morphine etc. use of such drugs are very risky and requires her full history. vomiting suggest there must be metastasis(spreading). in such case you should follow the advise of her consulting doctor ONLY.
