Suffering From Lumbar Spondylosis. MRI Showed Desiccation And Diffuse Bulge. Suggestions?
my mother is suffering from lumbar spondylosis her MRI report shows Desiccation and diffuse bulge of L2-3,L3-4 and L4-5 intervertebral disc(most marked at L4-5),including the anterior thecal sac and causing bilateral neural forminal narrowing(L>R) mild Ligamentum flavum hypertrophy at these levels with facetal arthropathy at L4-5 and L5-s1
Hi, thanks for writing. All the details given in the description suggests your mother has a degenerative lumbar spine. Propably she should be suffering from low back pain. *If the pain is concentrated only in the back, then it will be managed conservatively by means of rest, physiotherapy for back muscles, lumbar support, analgesics & muscle relaxants. * If the pain starts radiating down into the legs from the back, then it is a matter of concern which indicates compression of the nerve root. Then a surgical intervention may be needed to decompress the nerve root. Hope this helps
