Suffering From Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Fibrosis. Taking Medication, No Radiological Improvement. Treatment?
I am Manan Moin Shuddho, aged 20 yrs. I am a resident of Bangladesh. I was diagnosed for Pulmonary Tuberculosis one month ago. Now, after being under anti-tuberculosis medication for a month, I have had a significant clinical improvement, but there was no radiological improvement whatsoever. I also have a suspected pulmonary fibrosis in my left lungs. I would like to know whether there is a treatment of pulmonary fibrosis and tuberculosis. I do not have a proper line of information on what to do and how to proceed. With Regards Manan Moin Shuddho Dhaka, Bangladesh
Hi, As you started anti TB treatment recently and started improvement clinically, it is fine. It takes few months to see radiological improvement. Pulmonary fibrosis is a sign of healed pulmonary tuberculosis and may show permanent appearance on x-ray so there is no significance and do not worry. Continue the treatment till advised. Ok and take care
