Hello
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by uncontrolled proliferation of synovial tissue and a wide array of multisystem comorbidities. Prevalence is estimated to be 0.8 percent worldwide, with women twice as likely to develop the disease as men.
Remissions and relapses are the hallmark of this disease.
Your mother seems to be in relapse mode where steroids may have to used in larger doses for some short period of time.
Regular exercises and physiotherapy should be encouraged.
Surgery is sometimes considered in long term to relieve pain, improve functions and recent complications.
I advise you not to get disheartened and consult a rheumatologist for proper guidance and management.
The medicines being taken are all right and may require some revision.
Thanks
