Suffering From Running Stomach. Noticed Sticky Yellowish Fluid. Worried
Hi Dr Narasi
My Name is Terry, I was having a running stomach from Wednesday so I went to see a doctor on Friday who gave me pills to stop the running stomach but the problem now is that I still do feel like going to the toilet and when I go nothing comes out. Now when I go to the toilet nothing comes out still accept for sticky yellowish fluid. Should I be worried Dr?
Hi thanks for your question. There is nothing to be worried. You developed gastroenteritis that is infection of gastrointestinal tract caused by bacteria. Gastro enteritis usually get settled down in 2 to 3 days, but some time the infection is due to virus and may take little longer. Passing of sticky yellow fluid is due to infection of gut and these are secretions of gut. Take plenty of fluids in the form plain water and juice. Continue medicine prescribed to you by your physician. If the Loose motion doesn't settle down in another 1 to 2 days ,re visit your treating physician .He/she may take stool sample for culture sensitivity. Hope this answers your question.
