Suffering From Terrible Cold/flu. Heard Popping Sound While Blowing Nose And Feeling Dizzy. Is My Ear Drum Damaged?

I've had a terrible cold/flu for the past few days. After getting out of a hot shower I blew my nose and it popped. The sound is now faint in this ear and its ringing very loudly. I've tried to unpop it, but it didn't help at all. Will this problem fix itself in time or should I go see a doctor. There is a slight pain every now and again, and I'm getting dizzy when I wasn't before. Did my ear drum get damaged?

hi and thanks for the query,
It is true that a flu might affect the ears. I am afraid however that its too early for you to be afraid of ear damage at this point in time. I think you might need a careful ear examination by an ENT specialist before coming to such a conclusion. Other symptoms like pain, balance troubles and ear discharge would strengthen possibility of ear involvement. thanks and kind regards
