Suffering From Varicocele, Tolerable Pain, Advised Supportive Underwear, Surgery Not Necessary. How Long Can I Delay?

hi doctors i'm 22 years old, i am suffering from varicocele for more than 3 years until now, the pain is tolerable about 4 out of 10 (10 is the most painful) , my doctor advised me to wear supportive underwear when playing basketball, he also advised me that surgery is NOT necessary at this time, he told me that i can have surgery after marriage if fathering is delay. so my question is can i wait many more years before having surgery? can i wait for another 5 years? thanks! :)

Hello,
Your doctor is right.
There is no need for  any treatment at the moment.
It may cause discomfort in few people only.
It is thought that varicocele results in infertility but most men with infertility are not infertile.
If you get difficulty in fathering a child and are infertile,then a surgery may be done.
You can wait for another five years.
