sir,my mother was taking franxit she vaccording to doctors advice for one year.she has undergone angioplasty two years ago.regularly she takes medicine for high pressure and thyroid.as franxit is not available in market my mother has not taken franxit for last eight months.now she has developed some problems like anxiety for nothing ,loss of appetite, vomiting tendency. she can`t have good sleep at night.all these symptoms disappear if she takes franxit.sir please suggest me a medicine instead of fraxit which will help her to get rid of these problems. thank you.
The Franxit contains combination of Flupenthixol and Melitracen to control various stress and psychological issues. As her condition is well settled with the Franxit, usually the same should be continued rather than alternative. Though, replacement with Chlorpromazine, Haloperidol and Flufenazine can be discussed with the treating Psychiatrist or Psychologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
