Suggest A Better Alternative For Cough Due To Post Nasal Drip

Hello, I have had a cough for two weeks due to post nasal drip (I think). I don t seem to have any chest issues...difficulty breathing, etc. I just can t stop coughing. It feels like I constantly need to clear my throat. Not a bid deal except I am suppose to get on a plane tomorrow for Thailand. I have tried net pot, nasal saline spray, cough drops, throat coat tea, rest, etc.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to cough due to postnasal drip. I suggest using saline nasal sprays to help moisten your nasal passages and reduce symptoms of postnasal drip.

If you have continual problems with postnasal drip, you may use a cortisone steroid nasal spray. Sinus irrigation tools like neti pots or sinus rinses can also flush out excess mucus.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
