Suggest A Remedy For Low Heart Rate, Low Pulse Rate And Weight Loss

I started on Metoprolol er 100mg, which brought down my B/P, but also my heart rate. I recently lost 70 pounds and have weaned down to 50mg, then 25mg and finally 12.6mg. The problem is my heart rate has always been low, even prior to the meds, but after the weight loss, my pulse was running in the 40 s and 50 s. So, 3 days ago we stopped the med. My pulse is in the mid 50 s to low 60 s. My B/P is anywhere from 110/60 to 127/88. Do I need another med, ot are my numbers ok.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Those blood pressure readings are fine.

At those levels, you can consider monitoring.

High blood pressure refers to readings where the systolic is above 140 and/or the diastolic is above 90.
Both of these readings are well below this.

I hope this helps
